2014-15 Youtheatre Season
SLEEPY HOLLOW: A MUSICAL TALE
October 22 (10 AM), 23 (10 AM and 12:30 PM),
and 24 (10 AM), 2014
Based on the classic Washington Irving story, it is Halloween night, when three modern-day kids decide to trick or treat at the old "Crane House," where they are magically transported right into the middle of the classic tale of Ichabod Crane, Brom Bones, Katie Van Tassel, and - of course - the Headless Horseman! Lots of spooky and hilarious moments in this far-out time-travel-tale, as the three kids cope with life in 1790, goblins, and how to find their way back home.
January 21 (10 AM), 22 (10 AM and 12:30 PM),
and 23 (10 AM), 2015
A sleeping princess, a spellbound Prince and more fairies than you can shake a stick at are all part of this quirky adaptation of the popular tale. The King and Queen failed to invite Trollarina to the christening of their new daughter, Princess Melisande. The evil Trollarina exacts her revenge on the royal family by sending the beautiful Princess into an everlasting sleep, but little does she realize more than one spell is about to be broken by the kiss of an enchanted Faun.
TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD (Mainstage)
March 18, 2015 (10 AM)
Set in Alabama during the Great Depression, this iconic story follows the journey of Jem and Scout Finch, whose father has been appointed to defend Tom Robinson, a black man framed for a crime he didn’t commit. As the trial progresses, Jem and Scout witness their community in a tense tug of war between justice and racism. This timeless classic compels us to take an honest look at our nation’s past and our moral responsibility to each other.
DISNEY'S PETER PAN, JR.
May 13 (10 AM and 12:30 PM), 14 (10 AM and 12:30 PM),
and 15 (10 AM), 2015
It’s the timeless tale about a boy who wouldn't grow up. The score includes classic Disney songs, such as "You Can Fly," "The Second Star to the Right" and "Yo Ho, A Pirate's Life for Me." Wendy Darling loves to tell stories to her brothers, Michael and John. But when her father announces she must move out of the nursery, Peter Pan comes to visit the children and whisks them away to Neverland. The adventure features the Lost Boys, singing Mermaids, dancing Indians and of course the infamous pirate, Captain Hook!
