Charles Corritore

Charles Corritore, Business Manager, an Erie native, graduated from Strong Vincent High School and attended Gannon University as an accounting major. He joined the Playhouse staff in 1974 after fulfilling his duties in the Navy. Prior to his association with the Playhouse, he served as bookkeeper at Chaffee's Appliances, proof operator at Union Bank and Business Manager/Choreographer for the Village Dinner Theatre. Charlie's first experience at the Erie Playhouse was onstage in the chorus of "Sweet Charity." His favorite onstage appearances include "Falsettos," "The Normal Heart," "My One and Only," "Grand Hotel," "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" and "Ragtime." His favorite director and/or choreographic duties include "A Chorus Line," "Evita," and "Wit."

Charlie’s passion for writing has come alive in the Playhouse premieres of "Jane Eyre" (book by David Matthews), "Santa Claus: the Musical," " Beauty and the Beast" (our original Youtheatre version), and "Arthur's Halloween," supplying both the book and lyrics each case to music by his writing partner, Michael Malthaner. He's also written 15 interactive mysteries for his murder/mystery performance troupe, Mayhem, Inc.

In addition to the original musicals he's written for the Playhouse, Charlie also wrote the book and lyrics (again, to music by Michael Malthaner) for "Christmas Wishes," and "Peeved: A Musical About Life's Little Annoyances" for the Riverside Inn in Cambridge Springs.
