Susan Lechner

Susan Lechner, the marketing and special events director for the Erie Playhouse, has been a part of the Playhouse family since 1958, when she participated in the children’s theatre at the Playhouse’s former location on West 7 th St. Her interest in theatre comes naturally since her mother performed on Broadway, in movies and was a Rockette at Radio City Music Hall. Born in Erie, Sue graduated from McDowell High School and attended college at Butler University, University of Utah, and Gannon University, where she graduated cum laude with a degree in Communication Arts and Theatre.

Prior to joining the EP she served as public relations director for Robinson-Conner Insurance, program director for Tele-Media Cable, and she was an adjunct faculty member at Gannon University and McDowell High School. Sue's favorite EP shows include My Way: A Tribute to Frank Sinatra (director/choreographer/set design), I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change (director/choreographer), Wit (Vivian Bearing), Oklahoma! (Aunt Eller), Grand Hotel (the ballerina), Master Class (Maria Callas), and The Elephant Man(Mrs. Kendall).

Sue has been married to husband Bob for 22 years, and they have three talented children. Kate, is married and living in Pittsburgh, sons, Bobby and Scott, are living in Toronto while pursuing a musical career with their band, Dead Sexy Sheila. The entire family has performed on the Playhouse stage and was all together in The Music Man.
