Thank you for a great Playhouse Month!
I have to admit, I needed a few days to recover from all the Playhouse Month festivities before I could write this message. It turns out that spreading out the activities over a month instead of a week (while still a good idea), made for a very busy month rather than one absolutely insane week!
But what a month it was!
Playhouse Icons on stage (and stream, which you can watch in its entirety right here), a phenomenal Erie Gives, a canceled picnic (due to storms that, of course, mostly stayed away), a cheerful happy hour, an extended run of HAIRSPRAY, two sold out cabarets, a legendary 2027 season launch party, a mystery sale, and a hilariously entertaining new fundraiser, THE FEUD!
Through every event, we celebrated the history of our storied organization, the magic that happens inside our theatre and beyond, and most importantly, the people who are truly the heart of the Playhouse.
Whether you attended one event, every event, or missed them all, know this: I am so grateful for every single person who contributes to this wonderful place we all call home. This is your community, and the Playhouse is your community theatre.
That’s all. No sales pitch. No donation appeal. Just a very grateful (and tired) executive director thanking you for being a part of it all, and for allowing me to be a part of it, too.
