Seamus Clerkin, Youtheatre Camp Director

 

Séamus Clerkin (he/him) is a postgraduate student at Mary Immaculate College in Limerick, Ireland (Class of 2024). He is studying for a Master of Arts by Research degree in Drama & Theatre Studies, with a focus on Musical Theatre for Young Audiences. Séamus is a recent graduate from Gannon University (Class of 2021) where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre & Communication Arts and a Minor in Music & Culture. He has directed shows at Erie Day School since 2017 (including Mulan Jr.Madagascar: A New Musical AdventureElf Jr.Erie Day School’s 90th Anniversary Showcase, and Annie Jr.). Favourite past acting credits include Gannon University’s APE/ESSENCE (a devised ensemble show created for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival – 2017), Gannon University’s One Man, Two Guvnors (Francis Henshall – 2018), Shakespeare Summer Nights’ Titus Andronicus (Lucius Andronicus – 2021), Shakespeare Summer Nights’ The Tempest (Trinculo – 2022), Station Dinner Theatre’s Snake-Eye Sam’s Saloon Showdown (Two-Bit Slim and Professor Lewis – 2022) and Lime Tree Theatre’s Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime (Ensemble, Gabriella Goose – 2022/23). Séamus most recently devised, wrote, and directed an original musical for Mary Immaculate Drama Arts Society (MIDAS), UPSTAGED: A MIDAS MUSICAL (2023).
