THE SHOW:
PETE THE CAT
Script and lyrics by Sarah Hammond
Music by Will Aronson
Based on the Pete the Cat series of books by Kimberly and James Dean
Originally Commissioned, Developed and Produced by TheaterWorksUSA
Music Orchestrated and Produced by Frank Galgano and Matt Castle
For Pete the Cat, life is an adventure no matter where you wind up. So the minute the groovy blue cat meets The Biddles, he gets the whole family rocking. That is, except for young Jimmy Biddle, the most organized second grader on planet Earth. But when Jimmy draws a blank in art class during the last week of school, it turns out Pete is the perfect pal to help him out. Together, they set out on a mission to help Jimmy conquer second grade art, and along the way, they both learn a little something new about inspiration. Join Jimmy and Pete on an adventure of friendship, all the way to Paris and back in a VW Bus!
DIRECTOR AND CHOREOGRAPHER: AHNIKA LEXVOLD

AUDITION INFORMATION:
See “Youtheatre Auditions” for a more detailed breakdown of how auditions will run.
Auditions will consist of a monologue, song, and dance portion. You will learn the dance at auditions but should have your monologue and song learned and memorized before auditions. Monologues and songs for auditions are from the show and can be found below. Please choose only one monologue and one song from the options to perform!
There will be an optional (but encouraged!) audition workshop held at the rehearsal hall on December 7 @ 10:30 AM where you can learn the audition dance ahead of time, be able to practice your songs with an accompanist, and work your monologues in groups. This workshop is designed to alleviate some of the stress that goes with auditioning and also to ensure that anyone who wishes will have the resources to feel prepared for their audition.
Auditions start at the posted time with everyone learning the dance together and performing it for the director. Arrive early to allow time to fill out/turn in audition forms beforehand!
