Auditions for the Erie Playhouse production of Jersey Boys will be held on Sunday, November 13 & Monday, November 14 beginning at 6:30p the Erie Playhouse Rehearsal Hall at 1158 East 12th Street.

Auditions are open to actors aged 14 and up.

Actors are asked to arrive and to sign in within the first hour of the audition start time. All roles are available. The Erie Playhouse practices Color Conscious casting. All ethnicities and newcomers are especially welcomed. Crew and other volunteers are also needed for these events. Perusal scripts are available in the box office.  Questions? Please contact

PLEASE NOTE: All actors who are eligible for vaccinations will be required to be fully vaccinated and boosted, if eligible,  for COVID-19 to participate. If you are vaccinated, we will ask to see your card at the time of auditions. If you are not yet fully vaccinated, but plan to be by opening, we will ask you mask until fully vaccinated.

Rehearsals Begin – Week of November 21

Audition Requirements: Please bring two songs that you love to sing and show off your range.  While the show is primarily 1950s pop style, prepare anything that you are comfortable singing and can have fun with. Please bring printed sheet music for the accompanist (you can find it on sites like or  You can also bring a karaoke track (found on iTunes or YouTube) to sing along with, if that is more comfortable for you. Prepare the best that you can, but don’t be intimidated if you don’t have any of these requirements available. We want to see you, so please come and show us the best of you!

Winner of Best Musical at both the Tony Awards® and Olivier Awards®, JERSEY BOYS takes you behind the music of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons to discover the secret of a 40-year friendship as the foursome work their way from the streets of New Jersey to the heights of stardom. Thrill your audiences with electrifying performances of chart-topping hits including “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” “Dawn,” and “My Eyes Adored You,” which brought The Four Seasons the highest honor: induction into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame.

Please note, casting for this production is open to all ethnicities, so the production team strongly encourages all to audition!

FRANKIE VALLI: Male, 20-35: Must be 5’9” or shorter; must have a strong tenor with sweet and strong falsetto and be able to sing in the style of Frankie Valli. Strong tenor to high A or Bb plus strong falsetto up to treble G; charismatic and charming; must be a very strong actor (comfortable with narrative text) and have a gritty side as well as a polished veneer; must be very comfortable with traditional four-part harmonies. Lead vocalist of The Four Seasons.

BOB GAUDIO: Male, 20-35: preferably tall; strong tenor/baritenor voice needs strong high G. Must be very comfortable with traditional four-part harmonies; must be comfortable with narrative text; an intelligent, sensitive, and introspective musical prodigy. Ability to play piano a plus, but not necessary. The youngest and last member to join the group.

TOMMY DEVITO: Male, 30-40: strong tenor/baritenor voice; must be very comfortable with traditional four-part harmonies; must be comfortable with narrative text; ability to play guitar a very strong plus; a natural-born leader with an appealing, bad-boy quality. Eventually leaves the group when he racks up a debt with a loan shark. Ability to play guitar a very strong plus.

NICK MASSI: Male, 30-40: strong bass/baritone voice low E would be an asset.; must be very comfortable with traditional four-part harmonies; must be comfortable with narrative text; a quiet dreamer who longs for life after The Four Seasons. Has a good ear for vocals and helps train Frankie with his singing. Ability to play bass a plus.

BOB CREWE (AND OTHERS): Male, 30-45: Intelligent and flamboyant; the genius music producer and lyricist who was an integral part of creating the magic of The Four Seasons. Quick-witted and very into astrology: Preferably tall. Strong tenor/baritenor voice. Good dancer.

GYP DeCARLO (AND OTHERS): Male, 45-60: Tough, mafioso type; must be a good actor and strong singer. Must be comfortable and convincing speaking phrases in Italian.

JOE PESCI/STUDIO ENGINEER (AND OTHERS): Male, 20-30: Young, energetic and a little over-excited; a good actor, strong singer and strong mover.

BARRY BELSON/ FRENCH RAP STAR (AND OTHERS): Male, 20-40: A strong actor & singer who plays various roles including Hal Miller. Tenor to high C ideally with a strong falsetto to G above high C; has the ability to riff in rhythm-and-blues style.

HANK MAJEWSKI (AND OTHERS): Male, 20-45: Strong actor and singer to play various roles (friends, producers, etc.), bari-tenor voice down to a strong low G (low E a big plus); guitar and/or drums a plus.

MARY DELGADO (AND OTHERS): Female, 20-35: Strong singer, actor, and dancer; Frankie’s wife; tough, “seen it all”, Italian, Jersey girl; she’s got a killer sense of humor; actor also plays a variety of other roles; strong belt useful; high straight tone soprano also useful.

LORRAINE & FRANCIE (AND OTHERS): Female, 20-40: Versatile actress, singer, and dancer with flexible vocal registers to play a variety of roles (the many girlfriends of The Four Seasons, etc); should fit well together a la 60s band Shangri-las and be believable as “tough-as-nails” Jersey girls; must be very comfortable with traditional four-part harmonies; must have strong belt to F.

We may also cast the following

FEATURED FEMALES: 18-40: Fabulous, versatile actresses, singers and dancers with flexible vocal registers to play a variety of roles including The Angels, Miss Frankie Nolan, Frankie’s Mother and various other spoken and unspoken parts. They should be believable as “tough-as-nails” Jersey girls; comfortable with four-part harmonies. Women need to belt and/or have strong mix.
