Journey to a Trauma Informed Life

PLAYtime Summer Camp in Your Neighborhood featured in United Way INBrief

The Erie Playhouse PLAYtime in Your Neighborhood program was featured in United Way of Erie County‘s community newsletter INBrief, a publication that helps United Way‘s mission to crush poverty in Erie County and inspire new opportunities to to help build a thriving Erie community for all.

“If you stop into the Ada Lawrence Room in the Wayne building on Tuesday afternoons throughout the summer, you’ll find yourself transported to a world of adventure, activities and storytelling with the newly launched Erie Playhouse PLAYtime in Your Neighborhood program!

Every Tuesday from the end of the school year until the start of the next, Ms. Trish and dozens of children and their families are joining together for an interactive story time, followed by a number of engaging crafts and teamwork games.

Ms. Trish picks a different theme each week —from s’mores, to ants, to monsters and more. She can be counted on to read a great story and come up with activities and crafts for everyone, from the littlest ones to the family members who are still kids at heart.

PLAYtime in Your Neighborhood is free to all community members, thanks to United Way funding and the Erie Playhouse. In the summertime, it can be harder for kids to stay engaged with reading and learning than in the school year. That’s why we’re grateful to Ms. Trish and her commitment to interactive education in our community to help combat the summer slide!”
