Something incredible happened yesterday.
If you’ve been reading my emails and following our pre-show Annual Fund videos this year, you probably know we’ve made a change to our fundraising strategy. We’ve been asking our supporters to make donations earlier in the year. After all, we have bills and payroll expenses all year long, not just after Erie Gives.
Of course, Erie Gives is still an incredibly important day for us. Historically, about a third of all our donations come in on that single Tuesday in August. And the Bonus Bucks partial match is a nice boost as well!
With the number of donations made earlier in the year, I was absolutely anticipating a much slower Erie Gives, but you all proved me wrong!
We won’t have an “official” total until mid-September, but as of this email, we raised $52,174 by 315 donors yesterday. In fact, we’re #21 in total number of donors. That’s huge!
While our single-day Erie Gives total in 2025 was slightly higher, thanks to Erie Gives 2026 our year-to-date fundraising is now ahead by nearly $35,000! We’ve raised 67% of our Annual Fund goal for 2026, and those 315 donors helped us make significant progress yesterday!
This truly is an incredible community, capable of incredible things.
It’s an absolute honor to serve as Executive Director of the Erie Playhouse, and I never forget that the successes we have are successes we share as a community.
