Erie Gives is finally here, and we want to remind you how important YOU are today and every day. And we want to do that by doing a little math.

The Erie Playhouse’s operating budget is just over $1.4 million. Over 40% of our revenue comes from things like ticket sales and subscriptions. Another 15% comes from donations to our Annual Fund. As of yesterday, we’ve raised just over $75,000 toward this year’s $214,000 goal, with $139,000 to go.
We don’t expect to raise $139,000 today (though that sure would be nice!). Instead, we’re hoping to take a big bite out of that total. On Erie Gives 2024, we raised just about $60,000. Let’s aim for that number in 2025!
Here’s where the math gets really good.
We’ll raise $60,000 today if:
2,400 people give $25,
600 people give $100,
240 people give $250,
120 people give $500,
60 people give $1,000, or if
12 people give $5,000!
Our average donation during Erie Gives 2024 was $187, and more than 300 supporters donated. Gifts ranged from $25 to $5,000. Together, we raised nearly $60,000 in a single day. With your support, we can do it again!
Today is a great day to donate because a portion of your donation is matched, increasing the impact of your dollars! Our Annual Fund is a critical piece of our budget, and meeting our goal – or not – has a major impact on our ability to do the work we do on behalf of our community. Without donations to our Annual Fund, the Erie Playhouse lights would go dark. When we meet our goal, the lights stay on and the Playhouse continues its multi-year turnaround, thanks to you.
