Journey to a Trauma Informed Life

Thank you, Playhouse Volunteers!

Thank you! #NationalVolunteerMonth
From April’s “In the Wings” Newsletter

April is National Volunteer Month – so a big shout out to all of the volunteers that make the Playhouse possible.

Everyone you see on stage, the crew backstage and spotlight operators in the light booth, our wonderful musicians in the pit, the ushers who greet you, our board of directors and the countless people who step in to help us for events and cleanups are all volunteers.

On the average, an actor you see on the stage at the Playhouse has invested well over 140 hours in volunteer time. When you multiply that by the number of actors in a show and the number of shows we do a season, add in all the hours backstage, in the pit and front of house then multiply that by 108 seasons, the number is staggering.

Volunteerism has been the backbone of the Playhouse since its beginning back in 1916. Without our volunteers we simply would cease to exist.

If you would like to get involved with the Playhouse, we have auditions coming up over the next few months with no experience required.

If the spotlight isn’t for you and you would still like to get involved click on this link and it will take you to our volunteer registration page. Fill it out and we will be in touch.

So – a big round of applause for all of our volunteers. You make the Playhouse great and in turn make Erie a great place to live.

I’ll see you at the Playhouse.

– Richard Davis, Artistic Director
